OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)
“
is a journey of faith. Through prayer, learning,
and reflection, each person prepares to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and His
Church through the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.
OCIA is for:
- Anyone who has not been baptized and is seeking to follow Christ and become part of the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. After a time of learning about the faith and growing in their relationship with Christ, this person is called a Catechumen.
- Anyone baptized in another Christian tradition who is interested in becoming Catholic through preparation for Confirmation and Holy Communion. After a period of faith formation and discernment, this person is called a Candidate.
- Baptized Catholics who have not yet received Confirmation or Holy Communion and would like to complete their Sacraments of Initiation while growing deeper in their faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.
